Flamenco Dance Workshop

May 28th  – 31th,  2008

Guest dancer, Monica, will be teaching at the
Kapi'olani Community College through the Continuing Education & Training

All classes will be accompanied by Flamenco guitarist, Mitch Chang!

 

Two levels offered:

An Introduction to Flamenco Dance

&

Intermediate Flamenco

 

Explore Flamenco Workshop: An Introduction to Flamenco Dance
This is an introduction to basic Flamenco dance including basic compas (rhythm) and body and arm movement.  Recommended:  Character shoes and long skirts for women.

Instructor: Monica, a guest teacher from San Francisco, who has been described by Dance Magazine as "technically brilliant," is an experienced, professional Flamenco dancer and instructor who has  performed in many fiestas throughout Southern Spain.

Explore Flamenco Workshop: Intermediate Flamenco Dance
This is a class designed for students with prior experience with Flamenco dance.  Emphasis is on syncopated rhythms and upper body technique and style. Recommended: Flamenco shoes and long skirts for women.
